One of my favorite definitions of worship is by Eugene Peterson when he says, “Worship is the strategy by which we interrupt our preoccupation with ourselves and attend to the presence of God”. I believe there is great and needed truth in the way Peterson paints avoiding this preoccupation as a choice. This session is about catching a greater vision and passion into what it means to “attend to the presence of God”. As leaders, pastors, and facilitators, it is easy to lose sight of the powerful and eternal effects of the moments we are called to host. More than a job, more than a religious duty, our leading of songs and various technical functions are all part of the gifts and tools we are given to host these Holy moments and invite Heaven down.
